We stopped our horses to rest before descending into the next basin on day 17 of a horseback trip into the backcountry of the Gallatin National Forest. When I was a boy we had horses on my parents Iowa farm, but I hadn’t been on horseback again until this @natgeo assignment in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
